ABC Cancels 'Wicked City' After 3 Episodes

After a fall season where the broadcast networks trimmed episode orders instead of pulling shows from the schedule, the season's first cancellation is officially here in ABC's Wicked City. The network is effectively pulling the show from the schedule after three episodes.

Starting November 17, repeats of Shark Tank will take over the 10PM slot on ABC. Production on Wicked City will conclude after episode eight, which is currently filming. It's currently unclear when or if the five unaired episodes will be broadcast.

The anthology series focused on a serial killing team operating in 1980s Los Angeles. The plan was to reboot the story every season - similar to ABC's American Crime and FX's American Horror Story.

The cast featured Ed Westwick, Erika Christensen, Jeremy Sisto, Taissa Farmiga, Gabriel Luna, Jaime Ray Newman, Evan Ross, Anne Winters and Karolina Wydra.

The drama created by Steven Baigelman opened on October 27 - against the World Series - to a disappointing 0.9 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and 3.28 million total viewers. That number fell further in the two subsequent airings - with the third episode being seen by 1.69 million viewers and only posting a 0.4 rating in the key demo.

Baigelman executive produced the drama with showrunner Amy B. Harris, Laurie Zaks, Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman and Jon Cassar. ABC Studios and Mandeville Television produced
