Development News - Zoe Kazan Takes Over Lead Role in HBO's 'Max'; Amazon's 'Trial' Adds Britain Dalton; Plus 1 More Update!

Development News - November 11, 2015

Amazon's Trial; HBO's Max; and USA's Brooklyn Animal Control.

USA's BROOKLYN ANIMAL CONTROL
  • Daniel Zovatto (It Follows) has been cast on the drama pilot starring Stephen Graham. He will play Donovan Crean, an unemployed drunk and car thief in debt to all the wrong people whose world turns upside down with the startling revelation that his father, Officer John Crean (Graham), manages werewolves for a living. Accustomed to threats of jail time and broken knees, Donovan suddenly has to deal with the bewildering prospect of ending up gristle in a pile of werewolf scat.
AMAZON's TRIAL
  • Britain Dalton (The Adventures of Knickerbock Teetertop) has landed a regular role on the drama - which has a series commitment at the streaming service. He will play Jason, the 12-year-old son of a man whose death has been ruled a suicide but refuses to believe his father killed himself and convinces Billy (Billy Bob Thornton) to get involved in the case.
HBO's MAX
  • Emmy nominee Zoe Kazan (Olive Kitteridge) has been tapped to replace Lisa Joyce in the lead role on the comedy pilot written by Murray Miller. Scheduling and creative differences contributed to the casting change. Kazan will play Maxine Woodruff, an ambitious magazine writer in 1963 looking for liberation. She is an enthusiastic, if misguided, low-level magazine employee who stumbles into the forefront of a civil rights movement both she and the world may not be ready for.
