HBO's MAX
  • Rebecca Drysdale and Edgar Blackmon have been cast in regular roles on the comedy pilot written by Murray Miller and to be directed by Lena Dunham, with Peter Fonda set as a guest star. Drysdale will play Donna Pinasco, one of Maxine's (Lisa Joyce) co-workers. Blackmon will play Clarence, the cheerful coffee boy who offers Maxine workplace counsel. Fonda will play Edward Woodruff, Maxine's father.
AMAZON's THE LAST TYCOON
  • The online streaming service has given a pilot order to drama The Last Tycoon, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Billy Ray wrote the pilot and will direct. Additional executive producers include Perri Kipperman, Josh Maurer, David Stern, Alix Witlin and showrunner Chris Keyser. Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures Television and TriStar Television will produce. The project centers on Monroe Stahr, Hollywood's first wunderkind studio executive in the 1930s as he climbs to the height of power pitting him against his mentor and current head of the studio, Pat Brady.
AMAZON's THE INTERESTINGS
  • The streaming studio has also also ordered a pilot for drama The Interestings based on the novel of the same name by Meg Wolitzer. Lyn Greene and Richard Levine wrote the pilot. Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures Television and TriStar Television will produce. The project focuses on a group of friends who meet at an arts camp when they're 15 in 1974. The series chronicles their relationships throughout the next three decades dealing with the great expectations of youth juxtaposed with the realities life hands you as you get older.
