FX's 'The Bastard Executioner' to End After One Season

FX and Kurt Sutter have announced that the original drama series The Bastard Executioner will end after an expensive, low-rated single season. The series aired its final episode last night.






The drama debuted on September 15 to 2.11 million viewers, but it's first season continually dropped after that. The season only averaged 1 million viewers in the end.

The cast featured Lee Jones, Stephen Moyer, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Kurt Sutter, Sam Spruell, Katey Sagal, Darren Evans, Danny Sapani, Timothy V. Murphy, Sarah White, Sarah Sweeny, Ethan Griffiths and Elen Rhys.

Special guest stars in the first season included Brian F. O'Byrne, Matthew Rhys and Ed Sheeran.

Sutter executive produced with Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Paris Barclay. FX Productions, Fox 21 Television Studios, Imagine Television and Sutter Ink produced.
