IFC Cancels 'Benders' After One Season

IFC has opted not to order any additional episodes of its original scripted comedy series Benders. The series ended its first and only season on November 19, 2015. 






The comedy centered on a group of friends whose lives revolve around their obsession for hockey. Even though they don't have the best skills, they have the passion to play in the local amateur hockey league. They go through everyday life with problems that could impact their involvement on their team.

The comedy starred Chris Distefano, Andrew Schulz, Lindsey Broad, Mark Gessner, Ruy Iskandar and Steve Schirripa.

Jim Serpico and Tom Sellitti created the series, and executive produced with Denis Leary. Apostle was the production company.

The series started off with 155,000 total viewers and 75,000 in the Adults 18-49 demographic in L+3 numbers for the premiere. It fell to 88,000 viewers and 28,000 Adults 18-49 in L+3 for the finale.
