Netflix Renews 'Grace and Frankie' for Season 3

Hours after star Lily Tomlin landed a Golden Globe nomination, Netflix has ordered a third season of its original comedy series Grace and Frankie - which reunites Tomlin with her 9 to 5 co-star Jane Fonda. The 13 episode season will debut in 2017. A premiere date for the second season has not been announced yet.

Grace and Frankie stars Tomlin and Fonda as two frenemies who are thrusted into each other's lives when their husbands leave them for one another.

Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris created the series and serve as executive producers with Fonda, Tomlin, Paula Weinstein, Dana Goldberg, David Ellison and Marcy Ross. Skydance Television and Okay Goodnight Productions produce.

The comedy also stars Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, June Diane Raphael and Baron Vaughn.

This morning Lily Tomlin picked up a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a comedy TV series for her role. She'll compete against Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's Rachel Bloom, Scream Queens' Jamie Lee Curtis, Veep's Julia Louis-Dreyfus and last year's winner Jane the Virgin's Gina Rodriguez. Tomlin also picked up an Emmy nomination for the role earlier this year. She was snubbed in the category at the Screen Actors Guild Awards though.
