FXX Decides Not to Move Forward with Animated Comedy 'Cassius and Clay'

FXX has rescinded its series order for animated comedy series Cassius and Clay created by Adam Reed and Megan Ganz. The series was given a 10-episode series order back in August 2015.

The comedy produced a pilot episode which resulted in the series order last year. According to some network insiders and press outlets, the network talked about potentially redeveloping the series. But that is no longer the case. No episodes will be produced beyond the pilot, which will not air on the network.

In the vein of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the comedy starred Kaitlin Olson and Lake Bell as Cassius and Clay, bandits looking to survive in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic American South.

The voice cast also featured Susan Sarandon, Jeffrey Tambor, JB Smoove, Kevin Michael Richardson, Stephen Root, Katy Mixon and Robert Patrick.

Reed and Ganz served as executive producers alongside Matt Thompson. FX Productions and Floyd County Productions produced.
