Netflix Officially Reviving 'Gilmore Girls' with Original Stars and Creative Team

After months of speculation, Netflix has finally confirmed that it is indeed reviving beloved dramedy Gilmore Girls for more episodes. Additionally, many of the original stars and creative team are set to return for the new episodes.

Original series stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena have officially signed on to star in the new episodes. Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino are also returning as executive producers. Warner Bros. Television and Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions will produce. Sherman-Palladino and Palladino will write and direct all of the episodes on Netflix.

Gilmore Girls debuted in 2000 and ran for seven seasons and 153 episodes on The WB and The CW. Six of the seasons were ran by Sherman-Palladino - before a contract dispute forced her out for the seventh (and eventually final) season. The revival means Sherman-Palladino will finally be able to end the show the way she has always wanted to.

The revival is tentatively being titled Gilmore Girls: Seasons. It will consist of four 90-minute installments which will likely represent a different season over the course of one calendar year. The revival is also set in the present-day - aka eight years after the adventures in Stars Hollow ended.
