Showtime Renews 'Billions' for Season 2

Showtime has renewed its original drama series Billions for a second season, it was announced today. The renewal comes after only two episodes have aired. But in factoring in multi-platform viewing, the network has said that the premiere episode has been sampled by 6.5 million viewers.





The drama is set in the Manhattan world of high finance and tells a contemporary tale of power politics between a hedge fund billionaire and a determined U.S. attorney.

Emmy winners Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti topline the drama. The cast also includes Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile and Condola Rashad.

Andrew Ross Sorkin, Brian Koppelman and David Levien created the drama. They executive produce with director Neil Burger.
