Showtime Renews 'Shameless' for Season 7

Days after its sixth season premiere, Showtime has renewed its hit original dramedy series Shameless for a seventh season. The renewal was announced by David Nevins, CEO of Showtime Networks, during his executive session at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour.





The sixth season started on Sunday, January 10 and debuted to 1.439 million total viewers and a 0.63 rating in the key Adults 18-49 demographic.

The cast for the sixth season includes William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney and Cameron Monaghan. Special guest stars this season include Noel Fisher, Dermot Mulroney, Sasha Alexander and Sherilyn Fenn.

The series developed by John Wells will return for another 12 episode season in 2017. Production will begin later this year. Warner Bros. Television and John Wells Productions produce.
