AMC Renews 'Into the Badlands' for Season 2

AMC has given a second season renewal to its original drama series Into the Badlands, it was announced today. The second season will include 10 episodes - up from the 6 hours in the first season. However, the new season won't debut until sometime in 2017.





Into the Badlands centers on a trained warrior and a mysterious young boy who journey though a dangerous feudal land together seeking enlightenment.

The drama stars Daniel Wu, Orla Brady, Sarah Bolger, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Oliver Stark, Madeleine Mantock, Ally Ioannides and Marton Csokas.

Al Gough and Miles Millar created the drama. They also serve as executive producers with Daniel Wu, Stephen Fung, David Dobkin, Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg. AMC Studios, Double Feature Films, Diversion Pictures, Big Kid Pictures and Millar Gough Ink produce.

Boosted by a Walking Dead lead-in, the series opened on November 15 to 6.39 million total viewers. That number dropped off by the end of its first season - where it was airing with such a massive lead-in. The season finale was seen by 2.16 million total viewers in Live+Same Day statistics.
