Casting News - March 3, 2016

ABC's Scandal; CBS' Mom; CMT's Million Dollar Quartet & Still the King; FOX's The Grinder & Wayward Pines; Hulu's Chance; and NBC's Good Place.

FOX's THE GRINDER
  • Anne Archer (Fatal Attraction) will appear in a May episode of the comedy's first season. She will play Lenore Sanderson-Grant, Dean (Rob Lowe) and Stewart's (Fred Savage) adventurous and outspoken mother, who is incredibly unimpressed by Dean's TV-star status. She remarried right after she and Dean Sr. (William Devane) divorced, while he has been single ever since.
CBS' MOM
  • William Fichtner (Prison Break, Empire) has been cast in a recurring role on the comedy's third season. He will debut in an early April episode as Adam, a new love interest for Bonnie (Allison Janney).
ABC's SCANDAL
  • Danny Pino (Law & Order: SVU, Cold Case) has joined the drama's fifth season in a recurring role. As with most of the show's casting, no details were released about the character he will be playing, when he'll debut or how many episodes he'll appear in.
HULU's CHANCE
  • Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire, Mozart in the Jungle) is set as the female lead opposite Hugh Laurie on the upcoming drama. She will play Jaclyn Blackstone, an alluring patient who may or may not be struggling with a multiple personality disorder. She was referred by Stanford Neurology Clinic for complaints of memory loss and blackouts. Married to an abusive Oakland homicide detective, she says she wants to escape him - but also claims to have a secondary personality who will not allow her to leave. Chameleonic, charismatic and resourceful, Jaclyn is the kind of woman who can make sane men do insane things.
CMT's STILL THE KING
  • The cable network has announced that its new scripted comedy series starring Billy Ray Cyrus and Joey Lauren Adams will premiere on Sunday, June 12 at 9/8c. The comedy centers on a washed-up one-hit wonder (Cyrus) who crashes back into the life of his ex-wife (Adams) and finds out that he has a daughter. The cast also includes Madison Iseman, Lacey Chabert, Leslie David Baker, Kevin Farley, Travis Nicholson and Jon Sewell.
CMT's MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET
  • The cable network has also confirmed an 8-episode limited series entitled Million Dollar Quartet based on the musical of the same name. Debuting in November, the series is produced by Leslie Grief and directed by Oscar nominee Roland Joffé. The project is a coming-of-age story set in the unraveling world of 1950s Memphis where music and race collide, ultimately creating pop music's first superstars. The cast will include Drake Milligan as Elvis Presley, Kevin Fonteyne as Johnny Cash, and twins Christian Lees and Jonah Lees as cousins Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart. Additionally casting will be announced later.
NBC's GOOD PLACE
  • Manny Jacinto (The Romeo Section) has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming comedy starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. He will play Jason, a sweet and good-natured guy whose dream is to make a living as a DJ in South Florida. Not an intellectual guy by any means, he probably only went to school through the 11th grade and then repeated a couple times. We like him - we just don't want to be him.
FOX's WAYWARD PINES
  • The upcoming second season of the hit drama series will premiere on Wednesday, May 25 at 8/7c. Additionally, Hope Davis and Tom Stevens will reprise their roles from the first season on a series regular basis. Meanwhile, further Season 1 encores in a guest capacity will include Terrence Howard, Charlie Tahan, Toby Jones, Shannyn Sossamon and Tim Griffin.
