Development News - Poppy Montgomery to Topline 'Furst Born'; Clayne Crawford to Star in 'Lethal Weapon'; Plus 13 More Updates!

ABC's The Fluffy Shop, The Jury & Spark; Amazon's The Tick; CBS' Bull, Furst Born, My Time/Your Time & Untitled Matt LeBlanc; The CW's Untitled Doris Egan & Untitled Kevin Williamson; FOX's Lethal Weapon, Pitch & Recon; Syfy's Prototype; and NBC's Crunch Time & Marlon.



NBC's MARLON
  • Diallo Riddle (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Brothers in Atlanta) has been cast on the comedy pilot starring Marlon Wayans. He will play Kevin, Marlon's (Wayans) best friend and occasional "business manager" who actually just sleeps on Marlon's couch, eats his food and repeatedly tells him that he is the "Wind Beneath His Wings."
ABC's THE JURY
  • Awkward star Nikki DeLoach has joined the cast of the drama pilot starring Archie Panjabi and Jeremy Sisto. She will play Haley, a beautiful, stylish Southern Belle who uses her flirtatious charm to cover the tragedy of her real life, which is spiraling out of control.
ABC's SPARK
  • Austin Hébert (Bonnie & Clyde) will co-star on the drama pilot written by Michael Cooney. He will play Cable Jones, a lovable rogue cursed with a heart of gold and caught within the battle of power between two rival families. His tentacles tend to reach down rather than up, securing his connections into the lower echelons of society.
CBS' FURST BORN
  • Without a Trace and Unforgettable star Poppy Montgomery is returning to CBS to play the lead role on the comedy pilot starring Katey Sagal and John Carroll Lynch. Patrick Brammall (Upper Middle Bogan) has also been cast as the male lead today. Montgomery will play Bess, a successful doctor who is shocked to learn she's adopted, a secret her mom (Swoosie Kurtz) has kept buried for 38 years. Brammall will play Danny, Bess' husband, a successful architect.
THE CW's UNTITLED KEVIN WILLIAMSON PROJECT
  • Satisfaction star Matt Passmore has been tapped to replace Bailey Chase as the male lead on the drama pilot written by Kevin Williamson. The change came after the table read earlier this week. He will play Clark Patterson, a once-successful parapsychologist who is now just an attraction at local ghost conventions. But when he meets a mysterious young woman (Megan West), everything begins to change.
FOX's LETHAL WEAPON
  • Rectify star Clayne Crawford will play the co-lead on the drama pilot opposite Damon Wayans Sr. He will play Martin Riggs, a Texas cop and former Navy SEAL who loses his wife and baby and moved to Los Angeles to start anew. There, he gets partnered with LAPD Detective Roger Murtaugh (Wayans Sr.).
FOX's RECON
  • Revenge alum Nick Wechsler has booked a regular role on the drama pilot starring Tracy Spiridakos. He will play Freddie, a skillful and hardworking FBI agent who struggles with moral conflict while at the center of a key mission.
NBC's CRUNCH TIME
  • Craig Ferguson (Celebrity Name Game, Join or Die) has been cast on the game show/comedy hybrid pilot. My Boys alums Kyle Howard and Kellee Stewart have also been cast today. Ferguson will play Toby, the host of Crunch Time and a successful stand-up comedian. His career as an actor stalled and he's turning to the game show to take his career to the next level. A nice guy on-camera, off-camera he struggles with feeling too good for his job and not good enough at it. Howard will play Jake, the head writer who does the gig for the money and his friendship with showrunner Emily. Stewart will play Marcelle, Emily's best friend and confidant who is head of the contestants and is always discovering the next great player.
AMAZON's THE TICK
  • The online streaming service has officially ordered a pilot for a new take on Ben Edlund's comic book character, The Tick. Edlund will write the new pilot, and executive produce with Barry Josephnson. Wally Pfister is in negotiations to direct. Sony Pictures Television will produce. Griffin Newman (Vinyl) and Valorie Curry (The Following) have also been cast on the pilot today. In the new incarnation, the blue suit-wearing Tick is recovering from memory loss and ends up re-teaming with Arthur Everest to fight evil. Newman will play Arthur, a man labeled as a schizophrenic because of his statements that evil plans to rule the city. No one believes him until he runs into the Tick. Curry will play Dot Everest, Arthur's sister, a nurse who loves her brother to death and worries about him. 
ABC's THE FLUFFY SHOP
  • Paul Walter Hauser (Kingdom) will co-star on the comedy pilot starring Gabriel Iglesias. He will play Memo, Gabe's (Iglesias) oldest and most loyal friend who is high-spirited, earnest and sincere.
CBS' MY TIME/YOUR TIME
  • Izzie Steele (Cloud 9) and Langston Kerman (Clear History) have booked regular roles on the comedy pilot starring Jane Levy and Nicholas Braun. Steele will play Lauren, Marly's (Levy) best friend who went to Colombia Journalism School and always imagined an important life in New York breaking stories the world had to hear. Instead she works at a BuzzFeed-like online site and hates herself for it. She's getting married to her college sweetheart and has a lot of trouble understanding the single life and Marly's plight. Kerman will Parker, Wade's (Braun) oldest friend from the Midwest who is now living with him in Los Angeles.
CBS' BULL
  • The Night Shift alum Freddy Rodriguez has landed a regular role on the drama pilot written by Phil McGraw and Paul Attanasio. He will play Benny, the only lawyer on the team who provides legal strategy and acts as the lawyer in their mock trials. He's also Bull's former brother-in-law and the closest thing Bull has to a friend.
CBS' UNTITLED MATT LEBLANC PROJECT
  • Jessica Chaffin (Spy) and Diana Maria Riva (Telenovela) have been cast on the comedy pilot starring Matt LeBlanc. Chaffin will play Marie, a frazzled mom who is disgruntled to learn that Adam (LeBlanc) doesn't remember her - after meeting a half dozen times. Riva will play Mrs. Wannamaker, the lead teacher at the school who appears cozy and matronly but is a storm trooper who runs a very tight ship.
SYFY's PROTOTYPE
  • NCIS alum Cote de Pablo is in final negotiations to play the female lead on the drama pilot starring Jack Davenport. She will play Laura Kal, a driven, extremely intelligent mother of two. Excited about a potentially world-changing machine being developed by herself and two partners, she is certain that she is on the brink of something history-making. Propelled by a shot at glory, she is not about to give up despite numerous setbacks.
THE CW's UNTITLED DORIS EGAN PROJECT
  • America Olivo (The Strain) and Mark Leslie Ford are set as series regulars on the drama pilot written by Doris Egan. Olivo will play Captain Gautier, the woman in charge of the mission. Ford will play Friedman, a director and documentarist hired to capture the recruiting process and mission to Mars.
FOX's PITCH
  • Ali Larter (Heroes, Legends) has been tapped to replace Elisabeth Shue on the drama pilot starring Kylie Bunbury. The recasting happened following the table read earlier this week with some creative tweaks to the character. Larter will play Amelia Slater, Ginny's (Bunbury) sports agent who is not to be trifled with. She is Ginny's personal protector and pseudo big sister.
