Development News - Bojana Novakovic to Co-Star on 'Four Stars'; TNT Orders Pilot for Dramedy 'Claws'; Plus 8 More Updates!

Development News - March 23, 2016

ABC's Broken, Marvel's Most Wanted, Spark, Speechless & Untitled Mackay/Weeks; CBS' Four Stars; The CW's No Tomorrow; Hulu's Citizen; NBC's Miranda's Rights; and TNT's Claws.

CBS' FOUR STARS
  • Bojana Novakovic (Shameless) and Jackson Davis (Lonelygirl15) have been cast on the drama pilot starring Bruce Greenwood and Steven Bauer. Novakovic will play Ali Buckley, a sharp-witted, Pulitzer Prize-nominated investigative journalist and the daughter of four-star special ops legend General Buckley (Greenwood). Davis will play Jeff, an epic underachiever and Kriss' (Danielle Savre) love interest.
TNT's CLAWS
  • The cable network has given a pilot order to Claws, an hourlong dramedy from executive producers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. Eliot Laurence will write the pilot and co-executive produce. Warner Horizon Television and Le Train Train will produce. Set in a Southern Florida nail salon, the project is a midnight-dark, wickedly funny meditation on female badness that follows the rise of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists in the traditionally male world of organized crime.
ABC's SPEECHLESS
  • John Ross Bowie (The Big Bang Theory) and Kyla Kenedy (The Walking Dead) will co-star on the comedy pilot starring Minnie Driver. Bowie will play Jimmy, Maya's (Driver) husband who, after a long day providing for his family, comes home and provides every last laugh he can wring out of a sometimes difficult life. As the father of three teenagers, Jimmy tends to let his wife rule the roost, but he's there as a buffer when either the boys or Maya go off the rails. Kenedy will play Dylan, the middle child who is preternaturally focused and driven to succeed, but disconnected from her emotions.
ABC's MARVEL'S MOST WANTED
  • Oded Fehr (The Mummy) and Fernanda Andrade (The Devil Inside) will appear in the drama pilot starring Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood. No details were immediately released about the characters they will be playing.
HULU's CITIZEN
  • Johnny Ortiz (American Crime) has joined the cast of the drama pilot from Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. He will play Rusty, an ill-tempered gang banger and a member of the baby Narcos.
ABC's BROKEN
  • Bloodline star Enrique Murciano has booked a regular role on the drama pilot starring Anna Paquin. He will play Peter, Gemma's (Paquin) childhood friend-turned-nemesis after she represented his ex-wife in his divorce. He comes from a similarly rough upbringing as Gemma, but through hard work has become a successful doctor.
THE CW's NO TOMORROW
  • Jesse Rath (Defiance) has landed a regular role on the hourlong comedy pilot starring Tori Anderson and Joshua Sasse. He will play Timothy, a sweet, smart, successful, appealing in that cool-tech-nerd kind of way. He is also Evie's (Anderson) ex-boyfriend - the guy she probably should marry.
NBC's MIRANDA'S RIGHTS
  • Gail O'Grady (NYPD Blue, Revenge) is set for a lead role on the drama pilot starring Rebecca Breeds and Parker Sawyers. She will play Karen Klein, a whip-smart, formidable career woman who is head of the Klein & Associates law firm.
ABC's UNTITLED HANNAH MACKAY & ED WEEKS PROJECT
  • Christine Horn (Complications, The Haves and the Have Nots) has been cast on the comedy pilot written by Hannah Mackay and Ed Weeks. She will play Gail, a slightly pretentious ex-lawyer who gave up the rat-race to open a bar in Austin with her girlfriend, where she mothers everybody.
ABC's SPARK
  • Rachel Hurd-Wood (Home Fires) will co-star on the drama pilot written by Michael Cooney. She will play Keira Stockton, Hazel's (Lena Olin) daughter who is being groomed by her mother to take over the company one day.
