WGN America Renews 'Underground' for Season 2

WGN America has renewed its original drama series Underground for a second season, it was announced today. The new season will include 10 episodes and begin production this summer for a 2017 premiere.






Underground follows a group of American heroes who attempt a daring flight to freedom in the greatest escape in history via the Underground Railroad.

The drama stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Jessica De Gouw, Alano Miller, Marc Blucas, Reed Diamond, Amirah Vann, Adina Porter, Mykelti Williamson and Christopher Meloni.

Misha Green and Joe Pokaski created the series. They executive produce with John Legend, Akiva Goldman, Tory Tunnell, Joby Harold, Mike Jackson, Ty Stiklorius and Anthony Hemingway. Tribune Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Weed Road Pictures, Safehouse Pictures and Get Lifted Film Company produce.
