AMAZON's THE INTERESTINGS
  • The drama pilot based on the novel of the same name of Meg Wolitzer will debut on the streaming service for fan response on Friday, June 17. The project follows a group of artistic teenagers who meet at summer camp in 1974. As they transition into adulthood over the course of the next few decades, their friendships are tested by tragedy, success, failure and secrecy. The cast includes Lauren Ambrose, Jessica Paré, David Krumholtz, Gabriel Ebert, Jessica Collins, Corey Cott, Matt Barr, Sarah Mezzanotte, Ed Squires, Jance Enslin, Katie Balen and Sasha Frolova. Lyn Greene and Richard Levine wrote the pilot, which was directed by Mike Newell. They executive produce with Michael De Luca and Lindsay Sloane. Amazon Studios and TriStar Television produce.
AMAZON's THE LAST TYCOON
  • The drama pilot adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald's last work will also drop on the steaming service on Friday, June 17. The project follows Hollywood's Golden Boy, Monroe Stahr (Matt Bomer) as he battles father figure and boss, Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer) for the soul of their studio. In a world darkened by the Great Depression and the growing international influence of Hitler's Germany, the series illuminates the passions, violence and towering ambition of 1930s Hollywood. The drama also stars Lily Collins, Rosemarie DeWitt, Mark O'Brien, Enzo Cilenti, Dominique McElligott, Jessica de Gouw, Kerry O'Malley, Annika Marks and Ryan O'Nan. Billy Ray wrote and directed the pilot. He will serve as co-showrunner with Chris Keyser. They executive produce with Joshua D. Maurer, Alixandre Witlin and David A. Stern. Co-executive producers are Scott Hornbacher and Perri Kipperman. Scott Berg is a consulting producer. Amazon Studios and TriStar Television will produce.
HBO's A LOT
  • John Ratzenberger (Toy Story, Cars) has been cast on the comedy pilot starring Whitney Cummings. He will play Gerry, Amanda's (Cummings) father who has a stroke-related condition known as "locked-in syndrome." He has full mental capacity and can hear and smell, but he cannot speak or move and his eyes remain closed. He communicates with his daughter and nurse by wiggling his toe.
AMAZON's I LOVE DICK
  • Roberta Colindrez (Girls, Fun Home) has joined the cast of the comedy pilot starring Kathryn Hahn and Kevin Bacon. She will play Devon, a butch cowboy and amateur playwright who works as a groundskeeper on the property Chris (Hahn) and Sylvere are renting in Marfa. She is instantly drawn to Chris, but she's waiting for the couple to come to some sort of agreement before she makes her move.
