Casting News - Freida Pinto Cast as Female Lead on 'Guerrilla'; Sarah Gadon to Star in 'Alias Grace'; Plus 4 More Updates!

SHOWTIME's GUERRILLA
  • Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) has been cast as the female lead on the upcoming limited series starring Idris Elba. She will play Jas Mitra, a passionate and politically driven individual. As a member of a newly formed radical underground cell, she helps liberate a charismatic convict from prison in an effort to lead the street fight against social injustice in 1971 London.
THE CW's ARROW
  • Tyler Ritter (The McCarthys, Young & Hungry) has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming fifth season. He will play Detective Malone, a new addition to the Star City Police Department.
TV LAND's YOUNGER
  • Noah Robbins (Grease: Live!) will appear in at least four episodes of the comedy's upcoming third season. He will play Bryce Reiger, a 26-year-old Silicon Valley genius who is interested in investing in a "century-old publishing company."
NETFLIX's ALIAS GRACE
  • 11.22.63 star Sarah Gadon has been tapped to play the lead role on the upcoming drama based on the novel of the same name. She will play Grace Marks, a poor, young Irish immigrant and domestic servant in upper Canada who, along with stable hand James McDermott, was convicted of the brutal murders of their employer, Thomas Kinnear, and his housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery, in 1843. Her conviction was controversial and sparked much debate about whether she was actually involved in the murder or merely an unwitting accessory.
SHOWTIME's SHAMELESS
  • Tate Ellington (Quantico) has landed a recurring role on the dramedy's upcoming seventh season. He will play Chad, an employee of the company that owns Patsy's Pies. He tries to convince Fiona (Emmy Rossum) to stay on as the diner's manager.
NETFLIX's GIRLBOSS
  • Ellie Reed (Betrayal, Chicago P.D.) will co-star opposite Britt Robertson on the upcoming comedy. She will play Annie, Sophia's (Robertson) best friend who is a bit of a wild woman and the life of any party.
