SundanceTV Renews 'Hap and Leonard' for Season 2

After some months of speculation, SundanceTV has officially renewed its original drama series Hap and Leonard for a second season, it was announced today by series star James Purefoy on Twitter. The second season will once again include six episodes and debut in 2017.

The drama stars Purefoy as blue-collar ex-con Hap Collins and Michael Kenneth Williams as his unlikely partner and Vietnam vet Leonard Pine.

Nick Damici and Jim Mickle developed the series based on the books by Joe R. Lansdale. All three serve as executive producers with Jeremy Platt and Linda Moran. AMC Studios and Nightshade Plattform produce.

The second season will be based on Lansdale's 1994 book Mucho Mojo, the second in the Hap and Leonard series.

The drama debuted back in March 2016 and averaged 456,000 total viewers in Live+3 figures for its first season.
