Ahead of the comedy's first season finale on Wednesday, June 15, TV Land has renewed its original comedy series Lopez for a second season. The new season will likely debut in 2017. An exact episode count was not immediately announced.
Lopez stars George Lopez as a heightened version of himself: a guy who struggles with wanting to give back to the Latino community where he grew up, but also feels as though he can never satisfy all the demands placed on him by both the celebrity world and his hometown.
The comedy also stars Anthony Campos, Maronzio Vance, James Michael Connor, Hayley Huntley and Ashley Zamora.
Through its first nine episodes, the series has averaged 461,000 total viewers.
Lopez created the comedy with John Altschuler, Dave Krinsky and Jeff Stilson. 3 Arts Entertainment, Dakota Pictures, Altschuler Krinsky Works and Travieso Productions produce.
