Casting News - Elizabeth Marvel Cast as Female President on 'Homeland'; Laura Linney Joins 'Ozark'; Plus 4 More Updates!

ABC's American Housewife; CBS' Elementary & MacGyver; FOX's Lethal Weapon; Netflix's Ozark; and Showtime's Homeland.

  • Elizabeth Marvel (House of Cards, Person of Interest) has been cast on the drama's upcoming sixth season. She will play Elizabeth Keane, the former junior Senator from New York and the president-elect of the United States. She's bright, charming, lively and blunt when the need arises. As previously reported the new season will be set in New York City and take place during the two month period between Election Day and the swearing in of the new President.
  • Singer Jason Derulo (So You Think You Can Dance) will appear in an early episode of the upcoming drama starring Damon Wayans Sr. and Clayne Crawford. He will play Ronald Dawson, an up-and-coming light heavyweight boxer who knows how to throw a mean left hook and a raging party. He's never shy about putting his toned physique on display which, in combination with his winning smile, means one or several ladies are never far off.
  • True Blood alum Nelsan Ellis has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming fifth season. He will play Shinwell Johnson, a former drug dealer who's struggling to get his life back on track after a long stint in prison. A surgical patient of Watson's (Lucy Liu) more than a decade ago, he reappears in her life as a helpful tipster in a murder investigation. He begins working with Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson, leveraging various illicit connections from his past to help the pair solve cases. But the more time he spends navigating New York's underworld, the closer he gets to sliding back into the life he's desperate to leave behind.
  • Tristin Mays (The Vampire Diaries) has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Lucas Till as a series regular. She will play Riley Davis, a highly unpredictable computer hacker who isn't thrilled to be working alongside MacGyver (Till) and his team.
  • Emmy winner Laura Linney (The Big C) will play the female lead opposite Jason Bateman on the upcoming drama. Set in the world of drug-money laundering, the drama revolves around financial planner Marty (Bateman) and Wendy Bird's (Linney) sudden relocation from the suburbs of Chicago to a summer resort community in the Missouri Ozarks.
  • Meg Donnelly (Teen Toon) will replace Johnny Sequoyah as a series regular on the upcoming comedy. She will play Taylor, the eldest of the Otto children who was an awkward homely dork up until about three months ago when she suddenly got beautiful and is embarking on a new stage in her life.
