- Clueless star Alicia Silverstone has been cast in the lead role on the comedy pilot written by John Riggi. She will play Bonnie Nolan, a mother with two daughters who finds herself facing an entirely new world after she leaves her husband. As she struggles to raise her family, Bonnie sets out to claim her own brand of independence in a world not ready to give it.
FREEFORM's THE DEEP
- The cable network has given a pilot order to drama The Deep written by Eric Wald and Dean White. They will executive produce with Brad Luff, Nate Hopper and RD Robb. Scott Stewart will direct the pilot, with Emily Whitesell set as showrunner for a first season. The project takes place in Bristol Cove, a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean.
