FOX's OKIES OF BEL AIR
  • The broadcast network has given a pilot presentation order to Okies of Bel Air, an animated comedy written by Sean O'Connor. He will executive produce with Blake Griffin, Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein. 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television will produce. In the vein of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Beverly Hills Hillbillies, the project is the story of a family of humble Oklahoma catfish farmers who, after their basketball prodigy son is chosen first overall in the NBA draft, pack up and move to the tony enclave of Bel Air, where they'll struggle to preserve their down-home sensibilities amidst a vast cultural wasteland where Kardashians reign supreme and pressed juice is considered a viable alternative to childhood vaccinations.

  • Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards, Manhattan) has been cast in the lead role on the dramedy pilot written by Amy Sherman-Palladino. She will play Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a 25-year-old sharp, sunny, energetic and absolutely adorable Jewish girl married and living with her husband and two children in 1950s New York City. A woman of her time, she is a dutiful daughter and a cheerleader of a wife to man who, though he has a good job in his father's company, sadly harbors delusional dreams of a stand-up comedy career. One day, Midge's perfect life blows up when her husband leaves her for another woman. Completely unprepared, Midge suddenly finds herself at sea with only her wit to help her build a brand new life for herself.
FOX's CHAD: AN AMERICAN BOY
  • The broadcast network has passed on the comedy pilot starring Nasim Pedrad. The pilot was written by Pedrad and Rob Rosell, who executive produced with Michael Rotenberg, Dave Beck and director Jason Winer. 20th Century Fox Television produced. The project is expected to be shopped to other networks and streaming platforms. The project centers on a 14-year-old boy (Pedrad) in the throes of adolescence who is tasked with being the man of the house, which leaves him with all the responsibilities of being an adult without any of the perks. The cast also included Matthew Mindler, Ariana Molkara, Christine Tawfik and Paul Chahidi.
