Casting News - September 20, 2016

ABC's American Crime & Grey's Anatomy; The CW's No Tomorrow; Netflix's Lost in Space; and Starz's Outlander.

  • Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Step Up, Supergirl) will appear in an upcoming episode of the new comedy starring Tori Anderson and Joshua Sasse. She will play Tuesday, a bohemian free spirit whose polyamorous lifestyle leads Xavier (Sasse) and Evie (Anderson) to examine the boundaries of their own relationship.
  • John Bell (The Hobbit) and Wil Johnson (Waking the Dead) have joined the cast of the drama's upcoming third season. Bell will play the young Ian Murray, a tall, gangly Scottish lad with a heart of gold, a stubborn streak and a penchant for getting into trouble. When he first appears, he's still a very gawky boy trying to prove that he is a man. Johnson will play Joe Abernathy, a fellow doctor-in-training who Claire (Caitriona Balfe) befriends in medical school. Intelligent, charismatic, with a wry and irreverent sense of humor, he is a loyal confidant with great affection for Claire. They both feel out of place in the mostly all-white, all-male medical field, which bonds them together as life-long friends.
  • Toby Stephens (Black Sails) and Maxwell Jenkins (Sense8) have been cast on the upcoming remake of the hit '60s series. Stephens will play Professor John Robinson, the father of the Robinson family, an astrophysicist and the expedition commander. Jenkins will play Will, the youngest Robinson child.
  • Emmy winner Cherry Jones (24, Transparent) has booked a recurring role on the upcoming third season of the hit anthology series. She will play the matriarch of a large family agricultural operation. She joins a cast that includes returning actors Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, Lili Taylor, Richard Cabral, Connor Jessup, Benito Martinez and Regina King (who just won her second consecutive Emmy for the drama).
  • Ravi Patel (Grandfathered, Master of None) will guest in an upcoming episode of the drama's thirteenth season. He will play Tamir Dahr, a nurse at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. He is currently slated to only appear in one episode, with a possibility for more later on.
