Netflix Renews 'Narcos' for Seasons 3 and 4

Just a few days after the second season dropped on the streaming service, Netflix has ordered two additional seasons of its original drama series Narcos. The drama will return for Season 3 sometime in 2017.

Narcos chronicles the real-life stories of the drug kingpins of the late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. In doing so, it details the many, often-conflicting forces - legal, political, police, military and civilian - that clash in the effort to control cocaine, one of the world's most valuable commodities.

The first two seasons of the drama charted the rise and fall of infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. It's more than likely that Season 3 will shift focus to the Cali Cartel which took over the majority of the drug trade following Escobar's death.

José Padilha and Eric Newman will continue to serve as executive producers on the series for Season 3, Netflix has officially confirmed.

In its second season, the drama's cast included Wagner Moura, Boyd Holbrook, Pedro Pascal, Paulina Gaitán, Cristina Umaña, Joanna Christie, Paulina Garcia, Raúl Mendez, Manolo Cardona, Bruno Bichir, Eric Lange, Florencia Lozano, Damián Alcázar, Alberto Ammann and Francisco Denis.

It's currently unclear who amongst the cast will return for Season 3.
