FOX Orders 9 More Episodes of 'Lucifer'

As the network firms up the plans for its midseason schedule, FOX has ordered an additional nine episodes for Lucifer's second season. The order today brings the total order for the season to a full 22 episodes.

Lucifer currently stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Scarlett Estevez, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia and Tricia Helfer.

Tom Kapinos developed the series. Executive producers include Jerry Bruckheimer, Joe Henderson, Jonathan Littman, Len Wiseman and Ildy Modrovich. Warner Bros. Television and Jerry Bruckheimer Television produce.

The drama has remained a steady performer on Monday nights for FOX. The season is currently averaging 6.6 million total viewers and a 2.0 rating in the key Adults 18-49 demographic, according to the most recent Live+7 data.

"Lucifer continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to Gotham, and we couldn't be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes," said David Madden, Fox Broadcasting president. "We'd like to thank Tom, Lauren and the entire cast, who have imbued these characters with charm, humor and a great deal of humanity. Our thanks also go out to the production crew - Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy - who, week-in and week-out, deliver a stellar show. We can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the season."
