AMC's The Terror; CBS' Code Black & Hawaii Five-0; The CW's The Originals; HBO's Crashing, Girls, Insecure & Untitled Alan Ball Drama; and Netflix's Seven Seconds.




HBO's UNTITLED ALAN BALL DRAMA
  • Oscar winner Holly Hunter (The Piano, Top of the Lake) has been cast in the lead role on the upcoming drama created by Alan Ball. She will play Audrey Black, matriarch of the Black-Bishop clan. She and her husband Greg were socially conscious idealists and decided to build a family by adopting children from Vietnam, Somali and Colombia before having their own child in their 40s. Once a therapist in private practice, she now reluctantly utilizes her skills as a psychologist in the corporate world, balancing her more progressive personal philosophy with the need to make money. Audrey is a smart, caring woman who believes she knows what's best for everyone and has no problem telling them. But with her husband now fighting depression and her children mostly grown, she finds herself somewhat adrift.
HBO's CRASHING and GIRLS
  • The premium cable network has set February premiere dates for two of its original comedy series. The sixth and final season of Girls will begin on Sunday, February 12 at 10/9c. The debut of new comedy Crashing starring Pete Holmes will take place on Sunday, February 19 at 10:30/9:30c.
THE CW's THE ORIGINALS
  • The Vampire Diaries star Matt Davis will appear in the eighth episode of the spinoff's upcoming fourth season. In the episode, Alaric delivers an artifact to Elijah (Daniel Gillies).
CBS' CODE BLACK
  • Oscar winner Marlee Matlin (Children of a Lesser God, Switched at Birth) will appear in the December 7 episode of the drama's second season. She will play Kathy Byrne, a deaf patient who arrives at Angels Memorial with her translator after their car rolls over into the L.A. River.
AMC's THE TERROR
  • Ed Ashley, Liam Garrigan and Ronan Raftery have booked recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Tobias Menzies and Jared Harris. Ashley and Garrigan will play stewards aboard the HMS Terror. Raftery will play a lieutenant on the HMS Terror.
CBS' HAWAII FIVE-0
  • Masi Oka has decided to exit the veteran drama series after seven seasons. He joined the series in Season 1 as Dr. Max Bergman, the Chief Medical Examiner who works with the Five-0 team. For the first season, he was a recurring guest star. Starting with Season 2, he was a series regular. Oka will depart during the thirteenth episode of the current seventh season.
HBO's INSECURE
  • After appear in four episodes of the first season, Natasha Rothwell has been promoted to series regular for the comedy's upcoming second season. She plays Issa (Issa Rae) and Molly's (Yvonne Orji) friend, Kelli.
NETFLIX's SEVEN SECONDS
  • Russell Hornsby (Grimm), Raúl Castillo (Looking) and Zackary Momoh (A United Kingdom) will co-star on the upcoming drama created by Veena Sud. Hornsby will play Isaiah Butler, a devout man who is shaken to his core by Brenton's incident. Castillo will play Felix Osorio, a cop working on the narcotics squad in Jersey City. Momoh will play Seth Butler, Isaiah's brother who comes home from a tour in Afghanistan just in time to support the family.
