Ross will play Jada, a full-time nurse and single mother to Emmett. While she takes a tough love approach to Emmett's first steps into fatherhood, Jada is beginning to explore a coming of age of her own. They replace Tequan Richmond and Aisha Hinds respectively, who played the roles in the original pilot.
