TNT Renews 'Major Crimes' for Season 6

Ahead of its Season 5 return on February 22, TNT has renewed its original drama series Major Crimes for a sixth season. The new season will include 13 episodes and debut later in 2017.

In its fifth season, the drama stars Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Kearran Giovanni, Phillip P. Keene, Graham Patrick Martin, Jonathan Del Arco and Robert Gossett.

A spinoff of The Closer, James Duff created the drama. He serves as executive producer with Michael M. Robin, Greer Shephard, Adam Belanoff and Rick Wallace. Warner Bros. Television and The Shephard/Robin Company produce.

The pickup for the sixth season today means the drama will hit the 100 episode milestone.

Major Crimes ranks as TNT's longest-running drama currently on the air. Along with The Last Ship and The Librarians, it predates Kevin Reilly's tenure as head of the network and the move to darker and edgier original programming.
