Casting News - Robert Wisdom Joins 'The Alienist'; Tovah Feldshuh to Appear on 'Chicago Justice'; Plus 3 More Updates

Discovery's Manhunt: The Unabomber; NBC's Chicago Justice; Showtime's The Chi; and TNT's The Alienist & The Last Ship.





DISCOVERY's MANHUNT: THE UNABOMBER
  • Brian D'Arcy James (Spotlight), Trieste Kelly Dunn (Banshee) and Elizabeth Reaser (Grey's Anatomy) have joined the cast of the upcoming limited series (formerly titled Manifesto). James will play Henry Murray, a professor of Ted Kaczynski's (Paul Bettany) at Harvard who convinced his young students to participate in mind-control experiments supervised by the CIA. It's believed that these sessions, which were psychologically brutal and lasted for almost a year, were responsible for effectively weaponizing Kaczynski. Dunn will play Theresa Oakes, a librarian in Montana who befriended Kaczynski and engaged him to tutor her 11-year-old son in math. Reaser will play Ellie, the wife of FBI agent Jim Fitzgerald (Sam Worthington).
NBC's CHICAGO JUSTICE
  • Tovah Feldshuh will reprise her Law & Order role as defense attorney Danielle Melnick on the upcoming drama series. The character now resides in Chicago and has become a judge. In the episode, Judge Melnick presides over a case involving a suspected arsonist responsible for multiple murders. 
TNT's THE ALIENIST
  • Robert Wisdom (The Wire) and Q'orianka Kilcher (The New World) have been cast on the upcoming drama starring Daniel Brühl and Luke Evans. Wisdom will play Cyrus, Dr. Laszlo Kreizler's (Brühl) valet, a man with a dark past who the alienist has helped reform. Kilcher will play Mary, Kreizler's mute maid with whom he shares a special unspoken connection.
TNT's THE LAST SHIP
  • Jodie Turner-Smith has boarded the hit drama series as a recurring guest star for Season 4 and a series regular for Season 5. She will play Azima Kandie, a sergeant in the Kenyan Navy and new VBSS operator aboard the Nathan James. She joined the global cause to eradicate the virus after hearing stories of the legendary Captain Tom Chandler (Eric Dane). She is beautiful and flirtatious, but also knows 50 ways to kill a man with her bare hands.
SHOWTIME's THE CHI
  • Tiffany Boone (The Following) and Alex R. Hibbert (Moonlight) have been cast on the upcoming drama created by Lean Waithe. Boone will play Jerrika, Brandon's (Jason Mitchell) outspoken partner in life. Although she struggles with his mother for acceptance as his girlfriend, she also is wise and helpful in navigating Brandon's path. A restaurant manager herself, in tough times she works hard to keep Brandon away from street justice and on his own road to being a chef. Hibbert will play Kevin, a street-smart and confident 13-year-old. He's infatuated with a girl in his class, has a close group of neighborhood friends and dreams of getting out of the South Side. Unfortunately, being at the wrong place at the wrong time puts him at the scene of a murder, and now Kevin has a new kind of fear - for his life.
