Netflix has set a June premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series GLOW starring Alison Brie, it was announced today.
All 10 episodes of the first season of GLOW will drop on the streaming service on Friday, June 23.
Inspired by the real story of the 1980s wrestling league "Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (aka GLOW)," the series centers on Ruth (Brie), an out-of-work actress who finds one last chance to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.
The ensemble cast also includes Marc Maron, Betty Gilpin, Chris Lowell, Britney Young, Sydelle Noel, Britt Baron, Jackie Tohn, Kimmy Gatewood, Rebekka Johnson, Kate Nash, Sunita Mani, Kia Stevens, Gayle Rankin, Ellen Wong and Alex Rich.
Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch created the series. They executive produce with Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann. Lionsgate Television produces.
