ABC Renews 'The Goldbergs,' 'American Housewife,' 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' 'black-ish,' 'Designated Survivor' and 'Once Upon a Time'; Cancels 6 Series

Yesterday, ABC renewed its hit comedy Modern Family for two more seasons. And now, it has done the same for The Goldbergs - picking the comedy up for Seasons 5 and 6.

This evening saw even more renewals and cancellations at ABC as well.




The comedy stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia, AJ Michalka and George Segal.

Adam F. Goldberg created the comedy. He executive produces with Doug Robinson, Seth Gordon, Alex Barnow, Marc Firek, David Guarascio and David Katzenberg. Sony Pictures Television, Happy Madison Productions, Chadam Productions and Adam F. Goldberg Productions produce.

In its fourth season, the comedy is averaging a 2.5 rating in the key Adults 18-49 demographic and 7.9 million total viewers, in Live+7 numbers.


The good news with renewals also extends to American Housewife (for Season 2), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (for Season 5), black-ish (for Season 4) Designated Survivor (for Season 2) and Once Upon a Time (for Season 7).

However, this evening ABC has opted to cancel the following series: American Crime (after 3 seasons), Dr. Ken (after 2 seasons), Imaginary Mary (after 1 season), The Real O'Neals (after 2 seasons), Secrets and Lies (after 2 seasons) and The Catch (after 2 seasons).
