Development News - May 17, 2017

ABC's Raised by Wolves & Untitled Goldbergs Spinoff; CBS' The Get, Hannah Royce's Questionable Choices & Mission Control; The CW's Insatiable; FOX's Amy's Brother; and TNT's Highland & Snowpiercer.

  • Tony winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, black-ish) has been cast on the drama pilot based on the film of the same name. Furthermore, Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) has signed on to direct. Diggs will play Layton Well, a prisoner barely surviving the harsh conditions in the tail end of the train. A quiet thinker who spends his days sniffing the industrial-waste-turned-drug Chronole and tending to his cage full of rats. He becomes a reluctant participant in a struggle that could upend life on the train.
  • The cable network has ordered a pilot for comedic drama Highland starring Margaret Cho (Drop Dead Diva). The pilot was written by Liz Sarnoff. They executive produce with Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements. Studio T and Tomorrow Studios produce. Inspired by Cho's personal history with substance abuse, the project will chronicle what happens when two extended, dysfunctional Korean-American families who share the same patriarch must come together after tragedy strikes. As it turns out, the most reliable person in both families is the one who just got out of rehab.
