'The Shannara Chronicles' Moves from MTV to Spike

The reshuffling of shows at the Viacom networks continues today with the announcement that the 10-episode second season will air this fall on Spike instead of MTV. It will air before Spike makes the transition to the Paramount Network.






The drama stars Austin Butler, Poppy Drayton, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Aaron Jakubenko, John Rhys-Davies, Malese Jow, Vanessa Morgan, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie and Desmond Chaim.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar developed the drama. They executive produce with Jon Favreau, Dan Farah, Terry Brooks, Eugene Stein, Stewart Till and Jonathan Liebesman. Sonar Entertainment and Millar Gough Ink produce.

MTV released the following statement: "After much consideration, it was decided that the second season of The Shannara Chronicles will air on Spike. We’re honored to have worked with our extraordinary production partner, Sonar Entertainment, along with fantasy visionaries and executive producers Al Gough, Miles Millar, Jon Favreau, Jonathan Liebesman and Dan Farah along with executive producer and best-selling author of the book series, Terry Brooks. We're pleased that fans of the beloved franchise will be able to follow the characters and epic story they love on its new network."
