Netflix Renews 'Dear White People' for Season 2

Netflix has renewed its original dramedy series Dear White People for a second season, it was announced today. Production on the new season of 10 episodes will begin later this year for a 2018 premiere.






Based on the film of the same name, the series follows a diverse group of students of color as they navigate a predominantly white Ivy League college where racial tensions are often swept under the rug. It's a send-up of "post-racial" America that also weaves a universal story about forging one's own unique path.

The cast includes Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, DeRon Horton, Antoinette Robertson, John Patrick Amedori, Marque Richardson and Ashley Blaine Featherson.

Justin Simien created the series. He executive produces with showrunner Yvette Lee Bowser, Stephanie Allain and Julia Lebedev. Lionsgate Television and Roadside Attractions produce.
