Casting News - Elizabeth Mitchel Lands Recurring Role on 'The Expanse'; Tom Welling Joins 'Lucifer'; Plus 8 More Updates!

THE CW's RIVERDALE
  • Vanessa Morgan (Finding Carter, The Shannara Chronicles) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She will play Toni Topaz, a vivacious member of the Southside Serpents who is known for her signature pink hair and impressive appetite. She's a bisexual student at Southside High and could be trouble for Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead's (Cole Sprouse) relationship.
THE CW's SUPERGIRL
  • Calista Flockhart will return as Cat Grant in the season premiere of the drama's upcoming third season. Once again, she is expected to recur throughout the season. Flockhart was a series regular in the first season when the show aired on CBS. In Season 2 on The CW, she became a recurring guest star due to the production move from Los Angeles to Vancouver. The character was last seen in the second season finale helping Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) save National City from the Daxamite invasion.
  • Moreover, it was announced today that Adrian Pasdar (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Carl Lumbly (Alias), Yael Grobglas (Jane the Virgin) and Emma Tremblay (Elysium) have been cast on the new season. Pasdar will play Morgan Edge, a ruthless real estate developer who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. His plans for National City put him at odds with Supergirl and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). Lumbly will play M'yrnn J'onzz, J'onn's (David Harewood) father, a pacifist religious leader on Mars who pushes his son in unexpected ways. Grobglas will play Psi, a psychic who uses people's own minds against them. Her agenda puts her on Supergirl's radar and their meeting will affect the Girl of Steel in surprising ways. Tremblay will play Ruby, a smart and independently minded kid who's fascinated by Supergirl and ends up in jeopardy because of it.
SYFY's HAPPY!
  • Emmy winner Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille, The Goldbergs) has been tapped to replace Bobby Moynihan as the voice of the title character on the upcoming drama based on the graphic novel of the same name. The series centers on Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) - an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man - who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy (Oswalt).
FOX's LUCIFER
  • Smallville star Tom Welling is officially returning to television with a major role on the drama's upcoming third season. He will play Marcus Pierce, an accomplished police lieutenant who is everything Lucifer (Tom Ellis) is not - strategic, reserved and well-respected. However, they also both have a lot in common, like being charming, handsome and incredibly charismatic. So when Pierce begins to develop a connection with Decker (Lauren German), Lucifer's devilish traits are inflamed.
FOX's GOTHAM
  • Teen Wolf alum Crystal Reed has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming fourth season. She will play Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Don Falcone (John Doman). Strong, intelligent and calculating, she has run the Falcone operation in the south for the past 10 years and is returning to Gotham to help Gordon (Ben McKenzie) take down Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor).
THE CW's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
  • Neil McDonough will be returning as Damian Darhk as a series regular for the drama's upcoming third season. The character will continue to be one of the main villains, but this year's version will be less silly and more dark. Furthermore, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold and Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter will appear as recurring guest stars.
THE CW's BLACK LIGHTNING
  • James Remar (Dexter) and Damon Gupton (Criminal Minds) have joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Cress Williams as new series regulars. Remar will play Peter Gambi, the oldest friend of Jefferson Pierce (Williams). He is Jefferson's father figure, mentor and tailor. His history with Jefferson goes back further and deeper than anyone knows, and Gambi's role in Jefferson's life will become a painful window into the past that will affect the future of their relationship forever. Gupton will play Inspector Henderson, a veteran officer of the law who is now the highest-ranking detective on the force. His role in the community puts him at odds with Black Lightning but they soon become unlikely allies.
SYFY's THE EXPANSE
  • Lost star Elizabeth Mitchell has landed a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. She will play a character who brings a new, spiritual perspective to the series. All additional details about the character are being kept under wraps.
THE CW's THE FLASH
  • Neil Sandilands (The 100) is set as the main villain for the drama's upcoming fourth season. He will play Clifford DeVoe aka The Thinker, a metahuman with a mega-mind who embarks on a season-long battle with The Flash (Grant Gustin) that pits the "fastest man alive" against the "fastest mind alive." A true genius, he's devised an intricate plan to fix all that he deems wrong with humanity. The new season has also cast Kim Engelbrecht (Dominion) and Danny Trejo (Machete). Engelbrecht will play The Mechanic, a highly intelligent engineer who designs devices for DeVoe. She's the truest of true believers who'll stop at nothing to help him implement his plan to fix humanity. Trejo will play Breacher, a feared bounty hunter from Earth-19 and the imposing father to Gypsy (Jessica Camacho). His mission is to prevent any inter-dimensional traveler from threatening life on his planet - especially his daughter's.
THE CW's ARROW
  • Lost and Person of Interest star Michael Emerson is set to recur on the drama's upcoming sixth season. He will play an unnamed mystery character that has yet to be announced. Furthermore, it was announced today that David Nykl will continue to appear as Anatoly, Oliver's (Stephen Amell) Russian friend.
