Casting News - Erica Durance Boards 'Supergirl' in Major Recast; Katrina Law Set as Female Lead on 'The Oath'; Plus 1 More Update!

THE CW's SUPERGIRL
  • Smallville star Erica Durance has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming third season in a major recast. She will play Alura, the mother of Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). The role was played throughout the first two seasons by Laura Benanti, who is unable to continue with the series because of other work commitments in New York City.
CRACKLE's THE OATH
  • Katrina Law (Spartacus, Arrow) has been cast as the female lead on the upcoming drama starring Sean Bean and Ryan Kwanten. She will play Karen Beach, a police officer and the sole female member of the Ravens cop gang, who has a tendency to overcompensate by out-toughing the macho company she runs with and gets involved in a forbidden love affair with a member of a rival cop gang.
FOX's THE EXORCIST
  • John Cho (Star Trek, Difficult People) has booked a series regular role on the drama's upcoming second season. He will play Andrew Kim, a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew's care is targeted by a powerful force, Father Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) head west, setting themselves on a collision course with Hell.
