Netflix Renews 'Iron Fist' for Season 2

Netflix has renewed its original drama series Iron Fist for a second season, it was announced today during Marvel's panel at San Diego Comic-Con for upcoming miniseries The Defenders.

The first season starred Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, Tom Pelphrey, Jessica Stroup, Ramon Rodriguez, Sacha Dhawan and David Wenham.

Scott Buck developed the drama. He executive produces with Jeph Loeb, Cindy Holland, Allie Goss, Alison Engel, Kris Henigman, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Joe Quesada, Dan Buckley and Jim Chory. Marvel Television and ABC Studios produce.

Iron Fist is the fourth Marvel series to be produced for Netflix - following Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Next month on August 18, all four series will come together for the crossover event series The Defenders.

UPDATE - On Saturday, it was announced that Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow) would be replacing Scott Buck as showrunner for the second season. The move shouldn't be that surprising as the first season of Iron Fist was panned by critics - a rare misfire for the Netflix-Marvel partnership.
