SundanceTV Picks Up Drama 'Unspeakable'; Sets Premiere Dates for 'Top of the Lake: China Girl' and 'Liar'

During its presentation at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, SundanceTV gave a series order to drama Unspeakable and set premiere dates for Top of the Lake: China Girl and Liar.






The second season of Top of the Lake will air as a three night special event starting on Sunday, September 10 at 9/8c. and ending on Tuesday, September 12 at 9/8c.

The new season stars Elisabeth Moss, Gwendoline Christie, Alice Englert, David Dencik, Ewen Leslie and Nicole Kidman.

Jane Campion and Gerard Lee created the series. They executive produce with Emile Sherman and Iain Canning. Campion directed all of the second season with Ariel Kleiman. 

New drama Liar will premiere on Wednesday, September 27 at 10/9c.

The series tells the story of a teacher (Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt) whose date with a surgeon (Forever's Ioan Gruffudd) sets forth a series of volatile accusations that capsize their lives.

Harry and Jack Williams created the drama.

Based on the first-person experience and two non-fiction books ("Bad Blood" by Vic Parsons and "The Gift of Death" by Andre Picard), Unspeakable follows the emergence of HIV and Hepatitis C in Canada in the early '80s and the tragedy that resulted after thousands of people were unnecessarily infected by tainted blood. 

Robert C. Cooper created the drama. He executive produces with Glenn Cockburn. SundanceTV co-produces with CBC. Mezo Entertainment and Meridian Artists will also produce.
