BBC America Announces Premiere Date for Season 2 of 'Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency'

BBC America has today announced a premiere date for the second season of its original drama series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

The 10-episode second season will premiere on Saturday, October 14 at 9/8c.

Every season of the drama is a dizzying, smart, dangerous, unexpected and fun adventure that explores a different genre. Season one was about time travel with body-swapping, and this season involves an injection of fantasy. The vast dangers lurking in the fantasy realm navigate a path to Earth, becoming a threat in reality, and it's up to Dirk and the gang to stop them in their tracks. But first - they need to find each other. Everything and everyone continues to be connected - from the sterile chambers of the government organization Blackwing, to the sleepy town of Bergsberg and the magical land of Wendimoor. After a few misfires, Dirk steadily finds his footing on the new case to "find The Boy," and with the help of his friends, make the necessary connections to solve the mystery before it's too late.

The returning cast includes Samuel Barnett, Elijah Wood, Jade Eshete, Hannah Marks, Mpho Koaho, Fiona Dourif, Dustin Milligan, Michael Eklund, Osric Chau, Viv Leacock and Zak Santiago.

New additions in Season 2 include John Hannah, Amanda Walsh, Tyler Labine, Izzie Steele, Aleks Paunovic and Alan Tudyk.

Max Landis created the drama based on the novels by Douglas Adams, with Robert Cooper serving as showrunner. Landis and Cooper executive produce with Arvind Ethan David, Zainir Aminullah, Ted Adams, David Ozer, David Alpert and Rick Jacobs. AMC Studios, Ideate Media, IDW Entertainment and Circle of Confusion produce.
