Netflix Cancels 'Gypsy' After One Season

Netflix has cancelled its original drama series Gypsy starring Naomi Watts after one season, it was announced today. The 10-episode first season debuted on June 30, 2017.

In addition to Watts, the drama starred Billy Crudup, Sophie Cookson, Karl Glusman, Poorna Jagannathan, Brooke Bloom, Lucy Boynton, Melanie Liburd and Brenda Vaccaro.

Lisa Rubin created the drama. She executive produced with Watts, Sean Jablonski, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Liza Chasin, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. Universal Television, Working Title Television, Pen and Paper Industries, and Rhythm Arts Entertainment produced.

The drama marked the first foray into series regular television for Oscar nominee Naomi Watts (in addition to her co-starring role on Showtime's Twin Peaks). Despite this, the show was panned by critics.
