Syfy Renews 'Killjoys' for Final Two Seasons; Cancels 'Dark Matter' After 3 Seasons

Syfy has cancelled its original drama series Dark Matter after three seasons, it was announced today. The drama wrapped its run after 39 episodes on August 25, 2017.

Moreover, the network has renewed its original drama series Killjoys for a fourth and fifth season, which will serve as its final seasons.



In its third season, Dark Matter starred Melissa O'Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari Jr., Jodelle Ferland, Roger Cross and Zoie Palmer.

Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie developed the series based on the comic book series of the same name. They executive produced with Jay Firestone, Vanessa Piazza, Keith Goldberg and Mike Richardson. Dark Horse Entertainment and Prodigy Pictures produced.


Killjoys stars Hannah John-Kamen, Aaron Ashmore and Luke Macfarlane.

Michelle Lovretta created the drama. She executive produces with David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg. Universal Cable Productions, Temple Street Productions, Mendacity Pictures and Bell Media produce.

The fourth and fifth seasons of the drama will feature 10 episodes apiece.
