Casting News - Sara Ramirez Returns to TV for 'Madam Secretary; 'Cobra Kai' Rounds Out Cast; Plus 2 More Updates!

Amazon's The Man in the High Castle; CBS' Madam Secretary & Young Sheldon; and YouTube Red's Cobra Kai.

  • Grey's Anatomy star Sara Ramirez has joined the cast of the drama's fourth season. She will play Kat Sandoval, a brilliant political strategist, legendary in D.C. for her talent and for abruptly dropping out of politics until Elizabeth (Tea Leoni) manages to coax her back into the State Department. She will debut in the episode airing Sunday, November 19.
  • Mike and Molly star Billy Gardell will appear in an upcoming episode of the comedy's first season. He will play Herschel Sparks, the chicken-raising neighbor of the Coopers and father of Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) tormentor, Billy Sparks.
  • Courtney Henggeler, Mary Mouser, Xolo Maridueña and Tanner Buchanan have been cast on the upcoming sequel series to The Karate Kid. Moreover, Ed Asner has been tapped to guest star. Henggeler will play Amanda, Danny's (Ralph Macchio) wife and business partner, the glue that keeps the LaRusso household and dealership running while being a calming force in Danny's life. Mouser will play Samantha, Danny and Amanda's firecracker daughter who is learning to navigate the minefield that is high school, straddling the "good girl" and "popular teen" cliques. Maridueña will play Miguel Diaz, raised by a single mother from Ecuador who struggles with bullies at his new school until he's taken under the wing of a Cobra Kai karate master. Buchanan will play Robby, Johnny's (William Zabka) street-smart son who is eager to prove he's nothing like his dad, even though he's on his way to making the same mistakes. Asner will play Sid Weinberg, Johnny's reluctant stepfather, an old-school, hard-nosed, former studio mogul who is tired of dealing with his stepson's failures.
  • Tamlyn Tomita (Berlin Station, The Good Doctor) has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. She will play Tamiko, an Okinawan-American woman born in Hawaii who was an American citizen before the war. Now living in San Francisco, she is Tagomi's (Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa) neighbor.
