TNT has today announced a premiere date for its upcoming original drama series The Alienist.
The drama will debut on Monday, January 22 at 9/8c.
The Alienist is a fast-paced and atmospheric psychological thriller set in the fascinating and gritty world of Gilded Age New York City. After a series of haunting and gruesome murders, psychiatrist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, newspaper reporter John Moore and police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt come together employing emerging disciplines of psychology and early crime investigation techniques to track down one of New York City's first serial killers.
The cast includes Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans, Dakota Fanning, Robert Wisdom, Q'orianka Kilcher, Matthew Shear, Douglas Smith, Ted Levine, Brian Geraghty, Antonio Magro, Emanuela Postacchini and Michael Ironside.
Hossein Amini developed the drama. He executive produces with Cary Fukunaga, Eric Roth, Steve Golin, Rosalie Swedlin, E. Max Frye, Chris Symes and director Jakob Verbruggen. Studio T, Paramount Television and Anonymous Content produce.
