YouTube Red has given a series order to original drama series Origin created by Mika Watkins. The first season will include 10 episodes and debut in 2018.
The drama follows a group of 10 strangers who become stranded on a spacecraft traveling to a distant planet. The passengers must work together to survive but soon discover that one of them is not who they thought.
Watkins executive produces with Andy Harries, Rob Bullock, Suzanne Mackie, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Left Bank Pictures, Midnight Radio, China International Television Corp. and Sony Pictures Television produce.
"Origin is mysterious and captivating," said Susanne Daniels, Global Head of Original Content, YouTube. "Sci-fi and action adventure are huge on YouTube, and our audience will be intrigued by the unexpected plot twists and turns in this bold, studio-quality thriller."
