FX Sets Premiere Date for 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story'

FX has today announced a premiere date for the second installment of its anthology series American Crime Story which is titled The Assassination of Gianni Versace.






The new season will debut on Wednesday, January 17 at 10/9c.

Based on the book Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace, and the Largest Failed Manhunt in U.S. History by Maureen Orth, the story explores the death of Versace in July 1997. His killer, Andrew Cunanan, committed suicide eight days later as Miami Dade police were on the verge of capturing the serial killer behind five slayings.

The cast includes Penélope Cruz, Edgar Ramírez, Ricky Martin, Annaleigh Ashford, Nico Evers-Swindell, Max Greenfield, Finn Wittrock and Darren Criss.

Tom Rob Smith developed the season, with Ryan Murphy directing the premiere. They executive produce with Brad Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. Fox 21 Television Productions and Ryan Murphy Productions produce.
