DC Digital Service Picks Up 'Harley Quinn' Animated Series

DC Entertainment's upcoming digital service has given a straight-to-series order to a Harley Quinn animated comedy. The order is for 26 episodes, which will debut sometime in 2018.

The series follows Harley Quinn as she breaks things off with the Joker and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal "queenpin" of Gotham City. The series will also feature Poison Ivy and a cast of heroes and villains - old and new - from the DC universe.

Harley Quinn was most recently played by Margot Robbie in 2016's Suicide Squad. An offer has been made for the actress to voice the character in the animated series. But no voice cast has officially been confirmed for the show.

Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey (Powerless) developed the series.
