Amazon has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series The Last Post, which is a co-production with the BBC.
The six-episode season will drop on the streaming service on Friday, December 22.
Set during the social and political unrest of the mid-sixties, in the simmering heat of Aden, Yemen, the drama centers on the lives of a unit of Royal Military Police officers and their families. The men in the police unit are half soldiers, half policemen and full time husbands and fathers who face constant insurgency and threat.
The cast includes Jessica Raine, Jessie Buckley, Jeremy Neumark Jones, Amanda Drew, Ben Miles and Stephen Campbell Moore.
Peter Moffat created the drama. He executive produces with Margery Bone, Elwen Rowlands, George Faber, Mark Pybus and Matthew Read. Jonny Campbell and Miranda Bowen are directing. Bonafide Films and The Forge Entertainment produce.
