ABC has given a straight-to-series order to an untitled multi-camera comedy created by Kenya Barris (Black-ish), Julie Bean (Grown-ish) and Emmy winner Alec Baldwin (30 Rock). The series will air during the 2018-19 broadcast season.
The comedy centers on a stuck-in-his-ways, opinionated, fading TV star who moves in with his progressive daughter, her girlfriend and the child they are raising together.
The deal comes after Baldwin recently signed an overall deal to develop projects with ABC Studios. Right now, he's only attached as an executive producer. However, there is still the potential of him starring in the series.
Barris and Bean will serve as showrunners. ABC Studios produces.
