Casting News - Stephen Dorff Boards 'True Detective'; Mira Sorvino to Appear on 'Modern Family'; Plus 3 More Updates!

ABC's Modern Family; CBS' The Big Bang Theory; FOX's LA to Vegas; HBO's True Detective; and Netflix's Narcos.

  • Stephen Dorff is the latest actor cast on the upcoming third installment of the anthology series created by Nic Pizzolatto. Dorff is known for his role in the film Blade and can currently be seen recurring on FOX's Star. He joins Mahershala Ali and Carmen Ejogo in the new season.
  • He will play Roland West, an Arkansas State investigator who, along with his partner, has his life and career influenced over three decades by a baffling crime.
  • Oscar winner Mira Sorvino will appear in an upcoming episode of the comedy's ninth season. She won the Academy Award for her work in Mighty Aphrodite and will next be seen in Audience Network's upcoming drama Condor.
  • She will play Nicole Rosemary Page, a woman who runs a GOOP-like lifestyles brand called NERP. In the episode, Haley (Sarah Hyland) is trying to get a job as a style editor with NERP.
  • Beth Behrs and Walton Goggins will guest star in the January 18 episode of the comedy's eleventh season. Behrs starred for six seasons on CBS' 2 Broke Girls while Goggins has recently done FX's Justified and HBO's Vice Principals.
  • Behrs will play Nell, a recently separated school teacher who becomes involved with Raj (Kunal Nayyar). Goggins will play Oliver, Nell's intense husband who tracks Raj down and confronts him.
  • Don Johnson has been tapped for a guest spot in an upcoming episode of the comedy starring Dylan McDermott. His previous television credits include starring roles on Miami Vice and Nash Bridges.
  • He will play Jack Silver, the CEO of Jackpot Airlines. He is a cocky and charming businessman whose motto in business and in life is to "underthink it." He will appear in the eleventh episode of the first season, which will air in April.
  • Matt Letscher has booked a series regular role on the upcoming fourth season of the drama opposite Michael Peña and Diego Luna. He is coming off a recurring role on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
  • He will play James Kuykendal, part of the new team of DEA agents and police who turn their attention to the Guadalajara Cartel. But this time they have an advantage - a mole in the cartel.
