Hulu Renews 'National Treasure'; Announces Premiere Dates for 'The Handmaid's Tale' and 'Casual'

During its presentation at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, Hulu picked up the second installment of National Treasure and announced premiere dates for The Handmaid's Tale and Casual.






The second installment of limited series National Treasure - which will be subtitled Kiri - has been picked up by Hulu after initially premiering on Channel 4 in the UK. The entire season will be made available on Wednesday, April 4.

The new season follows the abduction of a young black girl, named Kiri, who is soon-to-be-adopted by her white foster family. The season tracks the trail of lies, blame, guilt and notoriety that follow.

Jack Thorne returns as writer, with Euros Lyn as director. They executive produce with George Ormond, George Faber and Toby Bentley.


The 13-episode second season of The Handmaid's Tale will debut on Wednesday, April 25 with two episodes and subsequent episodes being released weekly.

The drama stars Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle, Max Minghella, Amanda Brugel and Samira Wiley.

Bruce Miller developed the drama based on the novel by Margaret Atwood. He executive produces with Warren Littlefield, Reed Morano, Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears and Ilene Chaiken. Moss and Atwood are producers. MGM Television, White Oak Pictures and The Littlefield Company produce.


The 8-episode fourth and final season of Casual will be released in its entirety on Tuesday, July 31. 

The comedy stars Michaela Watkins, Tommy Dewey, Tara Lynne Barr, Nyasha Hatendi and Julie Berman.
